Pam Weech, Hospital Manager.Pam has managed the animal hospital since she and Dr. Weech bought the practice in 1983. She graduated from Paducah Tilghman High School in Paducah, Ky in 1972, then took computer and accounting classes at Paducah Community College. She worked for Petter Supply Company for 7 years until she met Dr. Weech. They were married in 1979 and eventually moved to Louisville, KY. Pam worked for another wholesale supply company and an oil company while living in Louisville. She worked as a sales secretary and as purchasing controller within these companies which granted her much expericence in the operations of business. Within the animal hospital, Pam's duties include bookkeeping, ordering supplies, overseeing all staff, procedures management, and public relations. Within the community, Pam is a founding board member and past president of Galesburg Christian School Assoc., Inc. and member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Phil has been with Galesburg Animal Hospital since July 1972. He graduated from Costa High School in 1971. Many years of experience, in all areas of the hospital, have given Phil the knowledge to help you with your pet. Phil began his veterinary career cleaning kennels and caring for dogs and cats when Dr. Monte Trimble and wife, Ruth owned the hospital. He eventually became their technician and receptionist. Currently, Phil serves as office manager and receptionist. Phil also maintains our office equipment. Phil has one dog of his own, "Kira", a Border Spaniel that enjoys coming to the office with him. His hobbies include landscaping his yard, cooking, taking pictures, and tropical fish.
Marla originally worked here from October 1995 to July 1997, while attending Carl Sandburg College and earning an Associate of Science. She graduated with a Bachelor in Animal Science from the University of Illinois in 2000. Since her return, Marla has become one of the receptionists who greets you upon entering the clinic. Marla's responsiblities include waiting on clients, helping as a technician and preparing reminder postcards. She has a Chow/Kelpie hybrid named Chloe.
Jennefer has been with Galesburg Animal Hospital since May 2003. She comes to the Galesburg area from Cambridge, Wisconsin. Jennefer worked as a veterinary technician at Lake Mills Veterinary Clinic with both large and small animals. Jennefer loves to educate people on the care of their pets. She serves as anesthesia, surgery and X-ray technician. Jennefer also manages the care of hospitalized patients. She currently lives on a farm in Altona where she raises and trains horses. She is a member of The Appaloosa Horse Club and The International Arabian Horse Association. Jen has five horses and six dogs.
Nancy has been with Galesburg Animal Hospital since April 2000. She started as a kennel attendant at a very early age and has progressed to serve as an exam room assistant, lab techician and receptionist at times. She has an associate degree in early education.
Nancy was married to Johan in June 2007. She and her husband raise goats, chickens, pigs and ducks. They both attend The First Church of Nazarene. Her son, Lucas was born November of 2009 and she is expecting another baby in September. Nancy has a black & tan coonhound, Allie, and a three-legged hybrid, Persia. Johan and Nancy also use their farming talents to grow organic vegetables for their own use.
Amanda joined GAH in 2010 as our kennel manager. She became intrigued by the professional dog and cat grooming we offered and asked if she could train to groom. She was trained and mentored by our groomer. When Katrina announced she was moving back to her home town, Amanda was ready to step in.
She had previously worked for the Prairieland Animal Welfare Center in Galesburg as their animal control officer. Her duties include scheduling other kennel staff and making sure protocols for animal care and cleaning are followed correctly and efficiently.
Amanda graduated from Galesburg Christian School in May 1998 and has an associate degree in criminal justice from Draughons Junior College, 2006, Nashville, TN.
Amanda attends Open Bible Church and works with their youth group. She has a yellow lab mix named Rosie.".
Jeri began working as a kennel attendant in the fall of 2012. She quickly moved up to serve as our kennel manager. She has years of experience working with animals. She has experience managing other businesses. Her duties include scheduling other kennel staff and overseeing kennel procedures. She ensures that the pets in our care are in an clean, kind and fun atmosphere.
Amanda joined the practice in March of 2010 as a part time kennel attendant. When not taking care of pets at the animal hospital, she works at Saint Mary's Emergency Room as a CNA. Amanda lives in Rio with her husband, Ed, and their numerous pets, including their two beagles, Rusty and Maggie. Amanda and Ed are expecting their first child in March 2011.
Ashley joined the practice in the spring of 2008 as a kennel attendant. Ashley is a Senior at Galesburg High School, where she is active in band, choir and drama activities. She has a bubbly, out-going personality resulting from being raised in a church evironment since her father is a pastor, currently at Harvest Church of God. Ashley enjoys long walks on the beach and hanging out with her friends.
Ashley has two pomeranians, Rowdy and Copper, that she adopted from GAH.
